I don’t think this is going to go down too well with Lyndsay & Chloe! I struggle to get them to tidy their bedrooms; they’re horrendous, dirty clothes, mucky pots and generally a tip.
Then, when I ask them to clean their bedrooms, they shuffle bits about and then argue that they have done it when they haven’t!
My usual response is, “it is your mess; you have to live in it.”
I would like them both to start taking pride in their space!
Instead, I have started to close the doors – out of sight, out of mind, I can only leave it for so long, and then I reach a point where I just have to clean it myself!
No more, my little Darlings, cleaning rotas coming soon!
3. Laundry habits
I need to put the clean washing away and not have a floordrobe mountain. Ha! I make a mistake by saving all the laundry for the weekend, and It makes the task so much harder!
It is incredible how time-consuming doing laundry for a family of 5 is!
So, I am aiming to do at least one or two loads of laundry on an evening.
In a bid that I won’t have any to do on the weekend!
Wishful thinking!
I HATE ironing!
I don’t iron anything unless I need to. I take clothes out of the dryer and fold them up. My mum loves it! When Mum visits, she will happily stand and do our ironing #result
Hubby will not let me iron his shirts, “I want one crease in my sleeves, not 10.” ha!
4. Bedtime
We need to have a better bedtime routine with Kayleigh, our 8-year-old!
I aim to have her in bed by 8 o’clock; it does have a knock-on effect on the next day’s behaviour.
Lyndsay & Chloe need to be more organized for school the following day. Mobile phones! Chloe is a little bit of a monkey watching Youtube until 10 am in the morning on her phone. I think that mobiles, Ipads, should be left downstairs on charge until the morning. They don’t use them for an alarm clock; wake-up calls is my job.
I plan on getting everyone out for a walk on the weekends, getting some much needed fresh air and exercise. Also, we have a large number of board games; I would like us to dedicate one evening a week to family night to a play game.
I will update next month on our progress; in 21 days, we will see! If the 21-day rule works, there will be fewer #mumtantrums!
