Are you looking for some summer holiday activities and boredom busters?
Create your own ice cream or ice cream sundae this is a perfect summer holiday activity that your children will be sure to love!
Decorate your table with a colourful table cloth and bunting you can use an empty cereal box making small holes to hold the ice cream cones.
Don’t forget the icecream sauce & squirty cream
Using an ice cream scoop different flavours of ice cream onto a tray and place this in the freezer until you’re ready to start the activity this will save you time, and you won’t need to leave ice cream tubs out which my go-to waste.
Using either a serving bowl with the different sections or a muffin tin, you can fill the different parts with topping treats sprinkles, sweets, nuts.
*You will need to dust your side with icing sugar and your hands to prevent it from sticking
1. Microwave your marshmallows in a microwaveable bowl heat them for 10 seconds at a time removing them and stirring them and putting them in for a further 10 seconds it takes roughly around 40 seconds to melt marshmallows. (don’t put them all in at once)
2. Add your icing sugar 1 tbsp at a time and mix it in, when the mixture becomes sticky then remove from the bowl and place it on a dusted surface with icing sugar.
3. Add more icing sugar to the centre of the dough and fold it in, keep kneading and folding until you have some playdough.
Add the food colouring to your playdough to make it colourful like ice cream.
This is not a long-lasting playdough recipe and will go off.
Bake peanut butter cookies and whizz up frozen bananas with fresh cream and vanilla to make this tasty Iacecream treat.
The preparation time for this is 15 minutes, and the cooking time is 12 minutes! This recipe will serve 4 hungry smalls.
200g Peanut butter feel free to use crunchy or smooth
175g Golden Sugar
75 grams dark Chocolate chopped into chunks
1 large egg
What you need for the Icecream:
3 Chopped frozen bananas
2 tbsp of double cream
1 tsp of vanilla essence
Preheat the oven o 180c/fan or 160c/gas mark 4 and you will need to line to trays with baking paper.
Then you need to put the peanut butter, sugar, 1/4 tsp of fine table salt and the chocolate chunks in a bowl, mixing it all well with a spoon.
Then crack in the egg and mix it well until the mixture sticks together and forms cookie dough.
Split the dough into chunks about the size of a cherry tomato, please them on your tray spacing them out. Press the cookies down with the back of a fork, then bake them for around 12 minutes in the centre of the oven until golden around the edges. Leave them to cool for 5 minutes.
Add the banana, cream, and vanilla to a food processor and blend until it makes thick ice cream.
Using an ice cream scoop and sandwich between two cookies. (serve immediately)

Banana Ice cream sandwiches found so much fun. Also 200 marshmellow is fun and perfect when one would want the activity to be a little longer.
